Major Emphasis
Program
Key Club is responsible for instituting a program which brings together members'
efforts and energies into an area that would truly make an international impact. "Take
a Child's Hand..." is the Major Emphasis Program. It encourages members
to interact with children on an individual basis. This program has three unique
sub-topics to better the mental, emotional, and physical components of a child's
life, which are the following:
- "Open a Book,
Show Them the World" which centers on the idea that
literacy is a necessity for a successful future.
- "Be a Friend,
Be a Hero" which involves being a mentor to a child.
- "Provide Awareness,
Ensure a Safe Tomorrow" which deals with the millions
of children who are injured every day in accidents or
have illnesses that could have been prevented.
Project Impact
Project Impact is designed to actively involve Key Club members in preventing
the use of illicit substances among preteens. It was conceived to give
Key Club members the opportunity to involve themselves in the next level
of service.
