Social Studies Courses and Requirements

Requirements listed for graduation

9th Grade- World Geography/ Advanced World Geography- This course involves a study of both cultural and physical geography.

10th Grade- World History/ Advanced World History- This course is a study of world civilizations and how people, events and issues from the past influence the present and the future.

11th Grade- U.S. History/ Advanced Placement U.S. History- This course is a study of the reconstruction period to the present.

12th Grade- Government/ Advanced Placement Government- (1/2 credit) Students will study the structure and process of the United States government.
Economics- Free Enterprise/ Advanced Economics- (1/2 credit) Students will study the structure of the economy and consumer economics.

Advanced Class Information
Students wishing to apply for the Advanced World Geography class need to contact his/her present history teacher or counselor for an application. All 8th grade applications will be returned to the 8th grade history teacher. Watch for the due date.
